Workshop Inclusive Circus Arts

Making circus more inclusive is a process that everyone can benefit from. At NICA (Network for Inclusive Circus Arts) from Halle (Saale), we are working to make circus arts more accessible. As a network, we are dedicated to developing and applying inclusive approaches to circus disciplines. Our work creates fundamental technical and pedagogical insights into the learning and teaching processes that make them accessible to a wide range of people (e.g. children, older people, and people with disabilities).

Ultimately, the multidisciplinary look at the interplay of art, play, fun, stories, entertainment, learning, movement, flow, togetherness, and a touch of magic can be enriching for anyone interested. Thus, there is great potential for therapeutic applications such as occupational therapy, physiotherapy and speech therapy.

Workshop content:
Centrally we will deal with the basics and insights of Functional Juggling. Part of this work is getting to know juggleboards as an independent juggling prop with its versatile possibilities. In addition, we want to take a new look at well-known circus disciplines with a view to accessibility. In addition to the workshops and presentations, we look forward to sharing ideas, visions, methods or current projects with you. For this we would like to invite you to the open evening program. Let's order pizza together and take advantage of the space and time.
